Filowise ("we", "our", "us") is an online platform that provides IRS tax form preparation, expert-assisted filing, and related services. We are based in India and operate globally. Our contact email is hello@filowise.com.

We collect the following categories of information:

Account information: Name and email address when you sign up.

Tax form data: Information you enter to prepare IRS forms, which may include your full legal name, residential address, Tax Identification Number (TIN), Employer Identification Number (EIN), Social Security Number (SSN), date of birth, country of residence, and entity type. This information is necessary to generate IRS-compliant documents.

Payment information: Billing details processed by Dodo Payments. We do not store card numbers or full payment credentials — these are handled entirely by Dodo Payments, our payment processor.

Usage analytics: How you interact with our platform, including pages visited, forms started and completed, session duration, and browser/device type.

API and MCP usage logs: For users of our developer API or MCP server, we log API key usage, endpoint calls, request timestamps, and error rates. This data is used for billing, rate limiting, and debugging.

• To generate and deliver IRS-compliant tax form PDFs
• To process payments and issue receipts or invoices
• To assign and facilitate expert-assisted form review
• To send transactional emails (form delivery, signature requests, invoice notifications)
• To enforce usage limits and prevent abuse of our API
• To detect fraud and maintain the security of our platform
• To improve our services based on usage patterns
• To respond to your support requests and enquiries

We do not use your tax form data for advertising. We do not sell your personal information to any third party.

We share your information only with the following categories of third parties, and only to the extent necessary to provide our services:

• Firebase / Google — authentication, database storage, and cloud infrastructure. Your form data is stored in Google Firestore.
• Resend — email delivery. Your email address and name are passed to Resend to deliver transactional emails.
• Dodo Payments — payment processing. Billing information is processed and stored by Dodo Payments.
• Future analytics and monitoring tools — we may add additional service providers and will update this policy accordingly. Current integrations are listed above.

All third-party providers are required to process your data only for the purposes we specify and in compliance with applicable data protection laws.

We retain your account and form data for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we delete your personal profile data within 30 days. Tax form PDFs and the underlying form data may be retained for up to 7 years to comply with applicable record-keeping requirements.

API logs and usage events are retained for 24 months from the date of the event.

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted data transmission (HTTPS), Firebase Authentication for access control, Firestore security rules restricting data access by user, and regular review of our security posture.

Tax Identification Numbers (TINs, SSNs, EINs) entered into forms are used only to populate the PDF and are not stored in a dedicated searchable field in our database.

You have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. To exercise these rights, email us at hello@filowise.com. We will respond within 30 days.

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have additional rights under GDPR including the right to data portability and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.

We use only functional cookies necessary to keep you signed in and maintain your session. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.

Our services are not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email or by displaying a notice on our platform. Your continued use of Filowise after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised policy.
